26 Hardest Truths You Have To Accept That Can Make You Stronger

  3. Poverty is simply the inability to legally and ethically steal money from another person.
  4. If many people are flocking around you, you are either predator or prey.
  5. It is actually easier to attract more people quicker than you think. Just become a clown.

  8. Marriage is a legal contract to share your intimacy with a total stranger.
  9. Your mother is the only person who really knows you more than you think you know yourself. You made her mad many times when you were dancing in her womb.
  10. Life misleads you into thinking you’re someone that you’re not, while all along it is pushing you into manifesting your true self.
  11. Everything must die one day, to give way for a new thing. We all follow this pattern of life.
  12. Love is not only an emotion. It is a universal religion that catches you unaware.
  13. You can easily identify a person who has money. Just identify what else they don’t have.
  14. Never, ever, waste your time on someone who has nothing to offer.
  15. Never waste more than 5 minutes on something that will not worry you in the next 5 years.
  16. If you want to grow, spend more time with people who leave you mentally challenged, emotionally overwhelmed, and physically energetic.
  17. Those who spend exceedingly more time thinking without moving will never move.
  18. Most people can’t think. They just want to listen to you so that they can waste their time copying you and bringing you down with them.

  25. The person who gives you food is twice more important than the person who loves you.
  26. Definitely, pain is the greatest source of strength, but who will go looking for it?

7 Harsh Realities Of Life

  1. Looks matter. A lot. Being a handsome man, is one of the most “unfair advantage” you could ever have. Better pay. More options in terms of relationships. Easier to make friends. More sex. I could go on and on…Luckily, unhandsome men can become handsome in a matter of 2–3 months. Get leaner, dress better (fitting clothes, wear black), start lifting weights and train in the fighting arts.
  2. Money matters. A lot. Yes, all by itself money won’t make you happy. But you’d be a fool to say that having lots of money WON’T measurably increase your quality of life. You could get out of a dead-end job. You could be the master of your own time. You could retire your mom.
  3. Working hard and “hustling 24/7” is CRIMINALLY overrated and toxic. 20% of your efforts contribute to 80% of your success in any given field. Be it business, good grades in school/college, building muscle and losing fat, dating, relationships…Everywhere. Which means, that there is just a handful of behaviours/actions/customers/partners (20%) that disproportionally contribute to your success and happiness. Hard work, and especially “hustling” is greatly overrated. You need to work hard at the right stuff, the 20% of factors that contribute to 80% of your success. That’s how you get real world success.
  4. At our core….We’re all like crack addicts - Our brain is wired in a way, that we’re NEVER, ever satisfied. No matter what domain of life, we always want more and more.More money. More experiences. More friends. Problem is: There’s a point of diminishing returns, where more X doesn’t lead to more happiness.
  5. We’re all deluding ourselves about who’s in the driver’s seat of our behaviour - Do you want to know how to spot a dumb person almost 100% of the time? They say: “I’m super rational.” Haha. Sure. No, you’re not. We’re all very irrational and almost always decide with our emotions first and then use our rationality to justify our choices.
  6. People lie all the time - But their behaviour can’t. Everybody says: “This year I’m going to get into shape.” But then they get drunk and high on the weekend and scarf down 3 burritos and skip the gym because “hangover”. Never take people for their word - Always look at their actions. People’s behaviour tell the real story, while they tell the story that sounds good to others.
  7. 90% of self-help, fitness and business advice is complete and utter bullshit that doesn’t work in the “Real World”. Most advice in books, articles, YT vids and even paid courses and seminars, sounds really good and helpful in theory, but always fails to deliver in the real world. But it get’s worse…Some of the advice is even dangerous. Most popular diets, for example, will make you gain fat back! Most self-help advice will only make you feel good for a couple of weeks, instead of teaching you how to change your habits. An then you’re back to square one, feeling even worse about yourself for “failing”.

5 Harshest Ways To Hurt Someone Emotionally

  1. Gaslighting: There is no worse emotional damage than making someone question their sanity and reality. This is far worse than even Physical Abuse I believe. This is # 1 in my book! And repeated gaslighting can do long term damage.
  2. Betrayal: Here you make a person question their self worth. This is right up there with gaslighting, damaging as hell.
  3. Physical abuse: While bruises heal, can still have a damaging effect.
  4. Lying: Repetitive lying is very emotionally abusive. Not only will you make your partner not trust you, they will have to work through this abuse in future relationships with trust issues.
  5. Silent Treatment: Ignoring a person to punish them. Purposely doing so for control is very hurtful.

I would rather be physically abused than emotionally abused. Emotional abuse can take years to sort out through all your relationships in life.

6 Of The Best Ways To Learn And Improve Self-control

 1. Take a Cold Shower Every Morning

Cold showers suck.

Forcing yourself to endure the icy blast of a cold shower first thing in the morning requires discipline and a high threshold for pain.

They’re not easy, they’re not fun, and they’re not comfortable.

So do them.

Even if it’s just for 30 seconds.

Start your day off by forcing yourself to endure acute stress and overcome the desire for a warm and easy shower.

It will be hard.

But it will build discipline like nothing else.

2. Meditate for 10 Minutes a Day

Meditation might seem like an odd way to build discipline.

After all, you just have to sit on your butt and think about nothing right?

Well, not exactly…

Meditation requires you to discipline your thoughts.

To clear your mind, center your body, and reconnect with your breath.

Meditation helps you clear out the mental clutter and allows you to reconnect with yourself.

And it’s harder than you think.

Sitting and thinking about nothing but your breath requires tremendous discipline and focus.

I promise you that if you are willing to give this a go for 30 days, you WILL increase your discipline and will power in surprising ways.

3. Begin Your Day with 100 Push-ups or a 1-mile Run

100 push-ups should only take you 5 minutes.

A one mile run takes 6–10 minutes.

But they are powerful tools for building discipline.

By starting your day with some form of physical activity, you will jump start your success throughout the day and force yourself to do something uncomfortable and difficult first thing in the morning.

Do this before your morning cold shower and you will have shown more discipline before 8 a.m. than most people do ALL day.

4. Make Your Bed

Making your bed takes 2 minutes.

But it’s a small activity that requires discipline because, there’s no real reason to do it.

Sure, it allows you to accomplish one task before you get your day started.

But it’s not like making your bed will increase your income, make you more productive, or increase your sex appeal.

It’s the ultimate exercise in futility.

But you should still do it.

Making your bed first thing in the morning puts you into a disciplined and productive state immediately when you start your day.

It’s also a powerful motivation to stay awake instead of crawling into the warm sheet.

5. Eliminate Distractions

Distractions kill discipline.

If you want to be more disciplined throughout the day, eradicate all distractions.

Turn off your phone.

Install a Facebook news feed blocker.

Turn off notifications on your computer.

Focus only on the task at hand.

This will allow you to be more focused and productive and will require tremendous amounts of daily discipline.

Avoiding the dopamine inducing social media notifications and text messages isn’t easy, but it’s well worth it.

6. Quit Complaining

Complaining is like cancer in your soul.

You have a lot to be thankful for.

But everytime you complain, you tell yourself that your life sucks and that things aren’t the way that they should be (even when they’re great).

So quit complaining.

It’s like a poison.

It distracts you from the good and makes you focus on everything that is wrong.

It makes other people like you less, makes you miss opportunities, and distracts you from living an amazing life.

Buy a rubber band and put it on your right wrist.

If you find yourself complaining throughout the day, move it to your left wrist.

Your goal is to make it 30 days with that rubber band staying on your right hand.

If you can do this, your discipline, happiness, and motivation will skyrocket.

Hope this helps.

5 Good Habits To Keep

  1. Never sit at a table where you may be gossiped about while you are away. If people around you talk about other people, then chances are you will also be discussed next. Even by family and friends
  2. Get rid of the mentality of being a victim. When you are locked in a room and surrounded by enemies say to yourself "I am not locked here with you, but you are locked here with me"
  3. Stop being a complacency for other people. Don't feel bad about your decisions that may offend others. You are not responsible for his happiness, but for yourself.
  4. Call your parents at least once a day. Check with your loved ones and tell them you care about them. Because we don't know when we will lose them.
  5. You are not a tree. If you are not happy with a certain situation then walk away. Growing up hurts, change is hard. But nothing hurts more than when you're stuck in a place that's not yours.

3 Simple Approaches To Re-Energize Yourself

We all fall into work ruts at times. Rather than trying to power through these moments, take a proactive approach to managing your energy. Here are some simple ways to give yourself a little boost when you’re feeling down.

1. Write your purpose on a post-it. This might be your overall career purpose (why you’ve chosen the profession that you are in) or a micro purpose (what’s motivating you to do a great job on a particular project or task). Keep it at your desk as a constant visual reminder of why you do what you do, especially when things are exhausting or stressful.

2. Create “a wall of encouragement.” Take any messages of encouragement, awards, positive feedback, or even memes that make you laugh and put them near your desk or store them in a digital folder. Look at them when you need to feel re-energized and appreciated.

3. Write up a to-don’t list. What things are you currently doing that are sucking up your energy? Identify which ones you can stop doing and put them on a list. These might be certain people that you decide not to see, habits that you want to break, or tedious tasks that can be automated or delegated.

10 Signs Of Intelligence From Another Angle

  1. They stare at the wall more than anyone else.
  2. Delusion never leaves them. Without imagination, they are nothing.
  3. Leave the group when they find the people in it are not a match for them.
  4. Generally polite, mature, have a good knowledge of the philosophy of life.
  5. Feel uncomfortable following the rules.
  6. Fighting desperately in their work. That's what gives them happiness.
  7. Have a high sense of self-worth for yourself.
  8. In silence, they always feel happy and at peace.
  9. All they need is love. Which can attract them strongly.
  10. They like the company of people who have a high curiosity.

Why Do Intelligent People Tend To Be More Selective?

It keeps them sane. Many intelligent people choose to be alone and have fewer friends.

  • They rather hang out with themselves than pretend to enjoy a conversation with their old college friends.
  • They rather spend a night learning mathematics than out at a party.
  • They rather spend time creating value than consuming content.

Intelligent people know what makes them intelligent.

It may be reading physics books, programming, or networking with high-level entrepreneurs. Because they know it works and they love doing it, they’ll continue doing it.

If someone asks them to sacrifice this time, the opportunity cost is too high for them to do so. It’ll take a lot of pull and sometimes a push to move them in another direction.

In turn, don’t expect intelligent people to change.

Expect them to be selective.

4 Traits Of Highly Intelligent People

  • They are more likely to be Introvert .First of all: Introversion and IQ are not correlated. What makes me think introverted are more intelligent goes way deeper than that. It is all about creativity: One of the biggest traits of intelligence is creativity but what is creativity really about? It's about connecting the dots. Introverts prefer to work independently, and solitude can be a catalyst to innovation.
    • “Introverts are drawn to the inner world of thought and feeling, extroverts to the external life of people and activities. Introverts focus on the meaning they make of the events swirling around them; extroverts plunge into the events themselves.” - Carl Jung
    • “Introversion concentrates the mind on the tasks in hand, and prevents the dissipation of energy on social and sexual matters unrelated to work.” - Hans Eysenck
      1. Related books (Quiet: the power of introverts in a world that can’t stop talking and The introvert advantage: how to thrive in an extrovert world
  • Vocabulary. We naturally perceive someone who uses a high vocabulary as someone who is literate and smart. This is nothing new. Vocabulary is the best predictor of IQ. In other words, lexical knowledge simply put predicts the intelligence of someone simply by the fact that if you read a sentence and understand every single word that is written you can then combine them and create meaning. In the end it really comes down to the impact of the words used and not simply the usage of big and complicated words.
  • Choice of conversation.
    1. It is much easier to talk about people, you make assumptions about them and draw your own conclusions which can feel very satisfying. However, talking about events and ideas require a minimum of introspection, thought and information.
      1. “Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” - First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt
      2. “Men and women range themselves into three classes or orders of intelligence; you can tell the lowest class by their habit of always talking about persons; the next by the fact that their habit is always to converse about things; the highest by their preference for the discussion of ideas.” - Henry Thomas Buckle
    • Now all of this is kind of obvious and what really interests me is not only the choice of conversation but the way someone engages in a conversation. Let's take for example two people debating. One could be driven by his ego and is simply playing a game to feel better about himself or to prove someone wrong. But a more subtle and way more insightful way of having a debate is when someone is trying to draw conclusions out of the conversation. In other words, he is not having a conversation to simply have a conversation but to acquire additional knowledge and data about the subject.
    • An intelligent debate and good conversation type could be illustrated by the ENTP of the MBTI personality theory. It is said that the ENTP will often take a side in a debate that he is not necessarily in accordance with simply to learn more about his own thinking and ideas of the subject. Therefore, the conversation of an intelligent person might revolve around deepening his knowledge and simple small talk might not be interesting to them.
  • Openness to experience and curiosity. A nice comparison that I like to have when thinking about openness to experience is simply by visualizing your artery full of shit. If it is full it will clog and get blocked and you might end up having a heart attack. But if your arteries are free and open you will live a much healthier life. It is similar to that but with your mind: Your mind is not clogged with prejudices, ideologies and preconceived paradigms, it is open to unusual and perhaps revolutionary ideas.
    • I know that I don’t know.
    • Being curious means your mind is active.
    • It is a hunger for exploration, curious people move their way through the world and love trying and learning new things
    • One big way of identifying a curious person is if he likes listening more than talking.
    • Correlation to the Big 5 traits openness to experience is Pearson r = .35

6 Top Hobbies That Will Likely Make You Smarter

There is no guarantee, but these games will help improve your thinking faculty towards strategy.

1. Chess

    • Chess is not only a great hobby, but also has been proven to literally make you smarter by exercising both sides of your brain. Studies have shown it to raise levels of IQ in students, stimulate creativity, improve memory, strengthen concentration, prevent Alzheimer's and grow dendrites ( tree-like branches that conduct signals from other neural cells. The bigger they are, the more signals you'll pick up). For more information read here: The Top 10 Health Benefits of Chess

2. Reading

    • As many other answers here have noted, reading is very important in order to increase one's cognitive abilities, creativity and keep that brain young. Not only does it relieve stress, but also stimulates your cerebral cortex by building new synapses and strengthening the existing ones. Reading develops your vocabulary, verbal intelligence and memory.

3. Writing/Blogging/Answering Quora questions

    • This is one of my favourites. Among the usual benefits such as improved ability to focus and express ideas cohesively you also gain fantastic amounts of knowledge. In order to write something useful you will have to come back to hobby number 2. A lot. Doing research and writing everything in your own words helps you to memorize better. Subsequently you learn new and interesting things, which will definitely make you a more interesting and intelligent person. Give it a try and answer a Quora question today :)

4.
Exercising

    • Scientists all over the world almost unanimously agree that exercising is good for your brain. It reduces stress and also improves blood circulation to the brain. Also researchers in the University of British Columbia discovered that even simple aerobic exercise increases the size of hippocampus - the brain area involved in verbal memory and learning. So, whether you run marathons or have never touched weights in your life - now is the time to start exercising regularly. Go for a run or hit the gym. What I especially recommend is exercising early in the morning before work or school. You will start thinking more clearly and have more energy throughout the day.

5.
Playing a musical instrument

    • As TED educator Anita Collins say "When you listen to music, multiple areas of your brain become engaged and active. But when you actually play an instrument, that activity becomes more like a full-body brain workout.". Playing an instrument is definitely your go-for hobby to get smarter. Almost every smart and famous person played an instrument: Einstein played piano and the violin, Charles Dickens played the accordion, Steven Spielberg plays clarinet, etc. Personally I play the guitar. It may not make me smarter, but helps me to relax and acts as meditation. That brings me to.
